Manston Airport has a planning agreement with Thanet District Council (TDC) that requires the airport to have in place a policy to manage and control Night-time Flying activity before a programme of regular scheduled night-time flights operate. In response to this requirement Manston Airport submitted on 27th October 2011 a proposed Night-time Flying Policy to TDC, and on which TDC will conduct extensive consultation. The policy seeks to develop a clear, simple and transparent method for managing this activity, based on the principles adopted at many other UK airports. Through this policy both our local community and our future customers will clearly understand the limits of permitted night-time operations.
