Broadstairs
It is a great place for refreshing clifftop walks, healthy coastal cycle rides, building sandcastles on our award-winning beaches, exploring the hidden heritage or for simply sitting at a seafront restaurant watching the sun glisten on the water. All this is just within a 5-10 minutes drive of the airport.
Our unique location, on the southeastern tip of Kent, affords us a more temperate climate than other parts of the country, ideal for exploring our internationally important coastline, which boasts 15 glorious sandy beaches and bays, of which many hold the prestigious Blue Flag award. One way of exploring is cycling the Viking Coastal Trail, one of the best leisure cycle routes in Kent and suitable for both experienced and novice cyclists.
Broadstairs, with its quaint fishermens' cottages, clifftop promenade and seven beautiful sandy beaches, is an unspoilt town and it's easy to see how the town attracted and inspired Charles Dickens. Visit Dickens House Museum, which commemorates the novelist's association with the town or Crampton Tower to find out more on the towns famous residents. The High Street offers plenty of places to shop for unusual gifts and to eat yourself around the world, including two excellent ice cream parlours, famous for their delicious homemade Italian ice cream.
