ACL Olympic Slot Booking process
Manston Airport is part of the collective 40 airports taking part in the ACL Olympic Slot Booking process. All slots will be issued on a first come, first served basis. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

- The London airspace during the Olympic Games will be split into a prohibited zone and a restricted zone. Manston Airport is located outside of the Restricted Zone and Prohibited Zone. Manston Airport has been granted its own block of Temporary Controlled Airspace (CAS(T)) for the period 16th July to 15th August 2012, which will enhance the Flight Safety for Aircraft operating to/from Manston Airport.
- All aircraft arriving or departing in and out of Manston Airport from the 21st July to 15th August 2012, inclusive, will require an ACL Ground Slot. No flights will be accepted without a pre-booked slot.
- If a requested slot time is not available, the closest match will be offered.
- A non-refundable deposit must be paid at the time of booking to secure a slot, handling and/or parking.
- All flight plans will be monitored during the Olympic period and must correspond with a requested slot. If flight plans do not correspond with a slot, NATS will have the authority to cancel the flight plan from the system. Please ensure your flight has followed the proper pre booked channels in order to secure the appropriate slot authorisation code to accompany and validate your IFR plan during this period.
- Slot times must be adhered to otherwise the operator may be liable for a fine from ACL and is likely to incur delays in waiting for the next available slot. For further details see: ACL website , www.olympics.airspacesafety.com and CAA Olympics 2012 homepage.
- Manston Airport is available 24 hrs 7 days a week however charges may apply to movements between 20:00 - 09:00.
