Visitors Flock to Manston Holiday Show
More than 1,000 people braved the cold weather and headed to the Holiday Show at Manston Airport on Saturday 4 February.
The airport’s staff threw open the terminal’s doors to the public and hosted a day of free entertainment for families including competitions, a raffle, a Captain Jack Sparrow lookalike, a balloon artist and face painting. The Manston team was joined by people from local businesses including Quex, the Spitfire Museum and Visit Thanet.
Sunpex Travel, which is due to open a travel agency at the airport very shortly and took holiday bookings during the day, joined representatives from Newmarket Holidays and Discover Jersey, to offer expert advice on flights and destinations available, direct from Manston Airport.
Charles Buchanan, Chief Executive of Manston, said: “The feedback, not just about the day, but also about the airport as a whole and what it offers to the people of Thanet, was very positive. Interestingly many of the visitors were telling the tour companies where they would like to travel to and from the airport which is very useful feedback for them and us when talking to other airlines.
“Thanks to our visitors the raffle raised more than £200 for Demelza Hospice Care for Children.”
