Manston Qualified to Offer Warmest Welcome for Visitors
MANSTON Airport is making sure its staff offer the warmest of welcomes to visitors.
Thanks to Visit Kent, thirty members of staff have just completed their City & Guilds Welcome Host Gold training.
And with an eye on the 2012 Olympic Games, the airport is ensuring visitors will feel right at home in Kent.
Last week’s one-day intensive training course involved thirty members of the airport team.
The main point of the innovative event was to emphasise the vital importance of providing first-class customer service to people of all ages and nationalities.
Issues covered included first impressions, meeting and exceeding people’s expectations, listening skills and problem solving.
All thirty staff successfully completed their City & Guilds Welcome Host Gold training and are now “quality assured” to meet and greet passengers landing at the airport.
Manston’s Chief Executive Charles Buchanan said: “Training and developing our staff is a key commitment of Manston Airport, as is making sure that we provide the best service to all our customers.
“We are delighted to have been working with Visit Kent to make sure that all our staff who deal directly with passengers are fully trained in the latest customer service practices.
“We look forward the next element of this programme - familiarising our customer service team with the huge range of tourist attractions and services Thanet and East Kent have to offer.”
