Manston's Biggest Summer Schedule Takes Off
SIZZLING Madeira, Italy and Portugal are among the top sunshine destinations featured in Manston Airport's Summer 2011 schedule that got under way yesterday (Sunday May 8).
The first packed summer flight took off to Lake Garda in Italy with Newmarket Holidays. Other charter flights to Lake Garda go on 10 July and 4 September, to Croatia on 16 May and 26 September, Portugal on 23 May and to Naples on 8 October.
In addition, tour operator Discover Jersey has flights every Saturday to the sun-kissed Channel Island between 14 May and 17 September while Atlantic Holidays offer Madeira on 13 and 20 June.
The holiday charters supplement flybe's popular daily scheduled service to Edinburgh plus its new route to Belfast City which starts 26 May.
Manston Airport's Chief Executive Officer Charles Buchanan said: "This is the largest number of sunshine destinations we have ever offered local holidaymakers. From charming Croatia to relaxing Jersey, people in Kent now have a great choice of holidays at the lowest prices - all accessible from Kent's own airport."
He added: "Madeira is very popular this year. It has just about the most perfect climate - it's never too hot and averages a maximum of 24°C during the summer months and a minimum of 17°C during the winter. One of the safest holiday destinations in the world, it's just 35 miles long by 13 miles wide and occupies a superb position in the Atlantic Ocean.
"Only three hours away from Manston, and with excellent flight times, our new service will appeal both to Kent families wanting a high-quality package holiday and to those who want flight-only to get out to their timeshare."
